Learn how to screen print and paint halftone posters
During this workshop, students will learn the basic language and technique of serigraphy, a printing process better known as screen printing.
We will provide the tools and lead you through the process to create a unique, colorful printed poster that you can keep.
Printing and painting
A variety of halftone images will be available to print with, then we’ll use paint to add color and dimension.
We’ll also demonstrate the halftone process in Photoshop and Procreate so you can learn the tools to do this yourself.
No prior printing experience is needed. Beginners are welcome!
Sliding scale
We offer our intro workshops at a range of prices to make them accessible to everyone. Quantities are limited. Pay what you can.

Eduardo Valadez Arenas is a Mexican Mixed media artist based in Oakland. He is the founder of Taller Graficante, a graphic arts studio that offers free and sliding scale workshops for nonprofits and community organizations throughout the Bay Area. Their mission is to support POC and Indigenous artists through the production of graphic posters of their work and message.
