Workday 20th Birthday party

We were invited to design and print an event poster, and host a pop-up screen printing station at the 20th Birthday event for Workday, a 3000-person tech company based in Pleasanton, CA.

Our live screen printing station featured event posters, where we invited people to “take one or make one!”

Together with Workday’s event lead, we designed a poster with the taglines, “A brighter work day for all” and “Forever Forward.”

We then printed nearly 3000 of the 2-color letter-size posters at our shop before the event, plus 150 half-done posters we could bring to finish with party-goers onsite.

With a small crowd of curious onlookers, a Workday employee examines the print he made.

For 3 days we staffed a live screen printing booth at the employee event, inviting people to “take one or make one” of the posters. If they opted to make one, we helped them pull a print with our portable screen printing press.

This experience was new to most people — only a few understand how screen printing works — and our mobile press offers a tangible perspective on graphic design production.
